Our annual Happy New Year, Evans Head social paddle was a huge success. With something for everyone there were some who made the rather tortuous 2 hour journey against the outgoing tide to the Golf Club turnaround point, ( two hours there; one hour back) while others chose a morning tea break sooner along the river and had a more relaxing paddle.
It was a beautiful day, with the added excitement of the old planes from the Evans Head Great Eastern Fly-in doing loop-de-loops above us.
Thanks to Chris and Robyn for the shady lunch spot at their camp in the caravan park – those fish and chips always taste fabulous after this particular paddle.
